Our Goals

Northwest Pet Alliance (NWAPA) is a newly formed group in our area. This group is made up of representatives from area animal shelters, rescues, animal welfare groups, businesses and volunteers that have come together to help the cats and dogs of northwest Arkansas. While each of us have our own agenda with regard to helping animals, we agree that there is much more that can be done. Our focus is based on the common goals our groups have: spay/neuter and adoption.

Shelters are overcrowded, under-supported and under-funded. Indiscriminate and irresponsible breeding is contributing to a pet population that outnumbers humans by eight to one in this country and grows daily. Owner retention is at an all-time low, due in part to the current state of the economy. Those of us who love and care for pets want to see this change. We invite you to join our alliance and help us with these problems.

Our Mission

  • Encourage city, county and state government to actively support, promote and improve area animal shelters.
  • Assist animal shelters in their spay/neuter education and promotion efforts.

Our Motto

"With Commitment Comes Action."
